Get Involved!!!On behalf of the University of Michigan Muslim Students Association, I would like to thank our continuing members for their ongoing dedication and support and extend an invitation this year to our freshmen to join the MSA family. We were ecstatic to have over 150 people attend our mass meeting on September 16th and, as the semester picks up, we are excited to see that energy turn into action. At the meeting, each of our executive board members presented the activities of his or her committee. Committees are the core of the MSA because they help us, as a community, capitalize on the diversity of our members and the range of their interests. Each committee has a unique mission and offers different opportunities to general body members, we encourage you all to read the following list and choose one or more committees to join. If you are a member of our Muslim Brothers or Muslim Sisters list, you are already receiving emails with detailed information on committee meetings. Please feel free to come to a meeting or email the relevant chair if you are interested in learning more about a particular committee. We are looking forward to meeting and working with you all! Community AffairsBasically, C-Affairs has 3 types of activities: 1. Many, many one-time collaborative activities with diff orgs - i.e. Detroit Partnership's DP Day, Relay for Life, K-Grams Kids Fair, and any others you want to do. 2. A few strong, large-scale events from ourselves-1st one being IROD (ongoing until the end of Ramadan) and the 2nd being Fastathon (COMING UP SOON) and the other ones after are up to you. 3. Other projects/programs of our own (possibly working with other orgs) - Trying to get halal foods in dorms, tutoring (ages: elementary through high school), Alternative Weekends, VIEW, a trip to [you-tell-me], etc NOTE: Everything is tentative --depends on how many ppl get involved! And if there is anything else inyour community (the Michigan, the Muslim, the US, the [whatever other]community) that you want to work on, bring it up!
